Ben Crighton

Ben CrightonBen graduated from Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) with a BSc First Class degree with honours in Nutrition. He is currently studying for his MSc in Sports Physiology at LJMU – the first university to recognise sports as a science in 1975 and today among the most respected sports and exercise science institutes in the world with links to many professional teams and organisations.

Recently Ben has been part of an innovative study helping professional jockeys to make weight. He’s also been involved in providing physiology support to the ASA England talent, helping staff of Everton FC prepare for their climb of Mount Kilimanjaro and working with St Helens Rugby League team during their hypoxic training sessions.

Ben began training in Muay Thai at the age of 10 at Master Skens Sitnarong in Liverpool  before being hooked by the grappling arts when he began training Ju-Jitsu at 16 under Sensei Eric Marshall 8th Dan and founder of Bugei-Ki-Ryu Ju Jitsu where he remains to this day as a self-defence instructor.  His first taste of MMA came in 2004 when he began training at Next Generation Liverpool, and he won his amateur debut in 2006. He plans to be back fighting again soon.
